Hariata Sanders
Hariata (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Toa, Kai Tahu) is an emerging artist with a history of rich life experience to draw from. Recently graduated from Te Kura Toi Whakaari O Aotearoa (Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School), she has dedicated the last 3 years to developing her voice as an artist, and further refining her craft as a performer.
In 2023 she was cast in the lead role for the debut season of the Albert Belz play The Birthday Girl. She made her screen debut the same year, featuring in short film Payback, which has its world premiere at the New Zealand International Film Festival (NZIFF).
As an aspiring storyteller and collaborator, Hariata is committed to nurturing and honouring the unique perspective we have to share from our home here in Aotearoa.
