Aidee Walker
Aidee Walker is an award-winning director, writer and actress with a passion for telling female-led and underdog-centred stories.
She first came to national attention as Draska in the long-running hit series Outrageous Fortune, and more recently as Kate Ryder in One Lane Bridge. Her screen credits also include international productions One of Us Is Lying (US), Nowhere Boys (AU), and Lee Tamahori’s historical epic The Convert.
Behind the camera, Aidee’s debut short film was officially selected for the Palm Springs Film Festival, while her follow-up, Friday Tigers, won both Best Short Film and the Audience Award at the New Zealand International Film Festival. Her directing work includes White Fever (AU), Westside, The Brokenwood Mysteries, and the locally shot BBC family drama Mystic. She was recently named Best Director for Television (AU/NZ) at the Asian Academy Awards for the series Kid Sister.
Aidee is currently in pre-production for her debut feature Daisy Chain and in production on a feature documentary. Outside of her creative work, she’s an ambassador for ReliefAid, and a proud mum to one human girl and one dog girl.
